Framed (name that movie) - please blur any potential spoilers (Part 1)

got it in 3

I figured the time period from the first picture (the car in the background gave it away), got nothing from the second, but the third was obvious.

I wasn’t 100% on it, but was an educated guess. #3 would have done nothing for me.

Guessed “Night of the Living Dead” on 5.

As close as I got. Not a fan of zombie stuff.

Way too easy second clue.

Everyone in 2 so far?

Yup. Frame 2 shoulda been frame 6. Might as well show the title screen.

Also got it in two, but one thing I did not remember was that he would wake up that early every day, threw me off a bit.

I don’t understand how someone could not remember that. The clock flipping over to 600 from 559 was half the movie

I didn’t remember but I’ve seen it exactly once.

It’s been a long time since I’ve seen it, and I was probably too young to realize (in my early 20’s just the thought of getting up so early would have sent some shivers down my spine).

Agree that 2 should have been 5 or 6.

Would you mind using the spoiler blur on this?

That drop in difficulty between 1st and 2nd clue

I feel third clue was harder than second. Still might have gotten it, but wouldn’t have been so easy. 4th and 5th were also almost as easy as 6th normally is.

Too easy for #2 if you know it without seeing the movie

My thoughts on today’s clue sequence:

First clue is an indistinct landscape shot. Just enough information to be able to tell the season and general biome of the shot. In this movie the season is important, but in general this type of information may not be very useful. Would be surprised if anyone could identify the movie based on this clue.

Second clue is an iconic shot from the movie that doesn’t include any characters. The highly stylized nature of the shot and relevance to the movie’s core plot device makes it pretty easy to remember the movie from this shot. Would have worked better as the fifth clue.

Third clue is a clear shot of Pittsburg. A bit of misdirect because this movie is mainly set in another location, although it does begin in Pittsburg. Would have worked better as the second clue.

Fourth clue is a shot of the lead actor and a minor character. The lead actor has been in a lot of movies, so it requires some knowledge of this movie (or a good guess) to get it from this clue.

Fifth clue is a shot of the lead actor and another minor character that is played by the director of this movie. Makes sense for this to come after the previous clue.

Last clue is a shot of the lead actor and lead actress with a sign in the background that names the main location. Should be a giveaway if you’ve seen the movie or are generally familiar with the actor’s work.

Aside from changing the order of the clues, I think I might have replaced some of the frames they used with frames that either showed minor characters from the movie or specific settings (e.g., the B&B where the main character stays).

First clue: Impossible
Second clue: Might as well have also played the music
