Framed preference rankings:

  1. I know it in an early frame and suspect others won’t.
  2. I know it in a late frame and suspect others won’t get it at all.
  3. I know it in a late frame and exist safe in the knowledge that I couldn’t have possibly gotten it earlier since I swear all of the earlier frames were from some other movie; also suspect almost everyone’s going to join me in getting it precisely in this frame.
  4. I know it in an early frame but it’s a way-too-obvious slam dunk and I was essentially denied a real puzzle for the day. Still some mild fun points quietly derived when someone doesn’t get it.
  5. I get it in a late frame but plainly should have gotten it earlier. This is at least a partial loss.
  6. I don’t get it; I spend several frames thinking that it’s right on the tip of my tongue only to find out that I’d never heard of the damn thing. Think I prefer this to the subsequent options because it at least gave me the illusion of a real puzzle for the day.
  7. I don’t get it; I’ve heard of it but haven’t seen it, feel like there’s a nonzero chance I could have conjured the right guess, but it’s a forgivable whiff.
  8. I don’t get it; I’ve never heard of it and just click through without even attempting a guess.
  9. I don’t get it; I’ve seen it and absolutely should have gotten it.

I like your rating system, LKJ. This one was definitely an 8 for me. I think I may have heard about it but I’m not 100% sure. It’s certainly never been on my watch list.
