Of course, anyone paying attention in 2020 would have seen Andrew Yang go on mainstream media before the race was locked up to give Joe Biden his blessing .
This seems to be getting some reaction on Twitter:
…when there was still slavery.
Yang then declared that there needs to be a “positive ex-institutional energy that comes up and ends up being this third force in American politics.”
The person he cited as his ideal candidate was McConaughey, 52, whom he described as someone who comes from “outside the institutions, but he’s not an assh*le in the same way Trump is.”
“So I look at someone like that and think, ‘God, that’s the kind of figure that we need to get us out of this mess,'” Yang said.
Other people Yang thinks could fall under the “ex-institutional” candidate category include Mark Cuban, The Rock and Oprah Winfrey.

The merger involves the Renew America Movement, formed in 2021 by dozens of former officials in the Republican administrations of Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush and Donald Trump; the Forward Party, founded by Yang, who left the Democratic Party in 2021 and became an independent; and the Serve America Movement, a group of Democrats, Republicans and independents whose executive director is former Republican congressman David Jolly.
Sounds like the Lib-Dem party of America.
But a centrist party in America is basically the conservative party in any functioning European democracy.
Lol yang gang

Wow the “both sides are bad” guy turned out to be a bog standard partisan Republican! Never seen that move before!
He’s not doing the “UBI solves everything” bit anymore?
Have to admit I have not previously paid much attention to Yang, even during the 2020 primaries. Is this guy legitimately dumb, or is there something I am missing?
If he actually wants to make every issue a voter referendum he should just say so, but somehow I doubt that.
I didn’t think he was a dope but I understand how he thought he could run for president without having some kind of stance on abortion. It felt like Acosta totally blindsided him.
