I like how “unelected” is a pejorative, as if the simple fact that someone was elected to a position makes them deserving of my respect and admiration.

I think you’re reaching a bit here, elected officials aren’t automatically deserving of respect and admiration, but it’s evidently bad to have too much power concentrated in the hands of unelected individuals running powerful institutions with no obligation to the pubilc.

I never heard of NewsGuard but I can see why he’d worry:

Only $15k for the car to blow through stop signs and actively try to head on into other cars, buy it now before the price increases again!
I have been on the 1.75 a month plan with wikipedia for 5 years or so. Stable monthly revenue seems like the way to go and I am never going to miss 1.75!

I don’t think you can get a super effective self driving car system unless all the cars are talking to each other and acting as one large network rather then acting independently.
The waymo and cruz systems are overly cautious and incredibly slow. Could you imagine rush hour traffic with just 5% of waymo cars. It would be absolute gridlock. And they are the best/only autonomous systems out there.Mass adoption of self driving vehicles could still be a decade or more away.
