Elon Musk: Proof that morons can become billionaires

LOL

No it shouldn’t. If it was random, white people would commit 58% of violent crime, 12% of which would be against black people. Black people would commit 12% of the crime, with 58% of it against white people. Those are the same percentage.

There are many issues with the chart, but the proportion of the population isn’t one of them.

Elon is just a deadbeat. Link to the tweet I can’t believe he hasn’t nuked

And these are the types of replies he got.

Most days I want to vent and rage at these people. Today I just want to give up.

So wait, threads no longer are…threads?

When I tap “show thread” it’s just the first post of a thread then a wall of blue check trash. Can’t see the OP’s own replies at all.

Where do I begin? My father was a relentlessly self-improving boulangerie owner from Belgium with low grade narcolepsy and a penchant for buggery. My mother was a fifteen year old French prostitute named Chloe with webbed feet. My father would womanize, he would drink, he would make outrageous claims like he invented the question mark. Some times he would accuse chestnuts of being lazy, the sort of general malaise that only the genius possess and the insane lament. My childhood was typical, summers in Rangoon, luge lessons. In the spring we’d make meat helmets. When I was insolent I was placed in a burlap bag and beaten with reeds, pretty standard really. At the age of 12 I received my first scribe. At the age of fourteen, a Zoroastrian named Vilma ritualistically shaved my testicles. There really is nothing like a shorn scrotum, it’s breathtaking, I suggest you try it.

Huh? My story? Okay. It was never easy for me. I was born a poor black child. I remember the days, sittin’ on the porch with my family, singin’ and dancin’ down in Mississippi

Do they even use FTS on manned flights? Surely not, right?

Pretty sure there are FTS charges on all flights that could be detonated to cease propulsion and break the thing into bits if the range safety officer deems the flight a threat to ground safety. But, manned flights these days also have a crew escape system, so in the event of trouble they blast the crew away and then destroy the launch vehicle. Don’t think this has ever happened though.

SpaceX hasn’t had it happen but Blue Origin got to test out their LES a while ago:

There always have been afaik. Shuttle used linear shaped charges on the SRMs. These basically unzipped the steel case. They were actually used in flight during the Challenger disaster.

Kareem goes through the details of Elon’s crime chart in this thread. He finds things are not so different from what you’d expect if crime was random wrt race.

The belief that people are always being manipulated is the most simple minded form of social/political analysis.

There is no man behind the curtain other than ourselves.

Seriously. If I ended up with a billion dollars somehow I would rotate beach houses and big city apartment living and no one would know I had 50 dollars.

yeah. this is the running joke among my friend group whenever the powerball gets big… if one of us wins the powerball the rest will each wake up with checks for a million or two and a message that the winner has already moved and probably changed phone numbers.
