Is it kind of weird that I do too? I can absolutely see the Chinese government using cheap cars as a way to get a power foothold in the US and doing other more nefarious things once they’ve been established.
This makes a ton of sense. If Elon get to divest are realize gains tax free ala Tim Geithner, this would be worth many billions. There are for sure the other business interests and things like standard trade protections for EVs and funneling money to him through SpaceX, as well as somehow using the federal govt. to boost X and suppress Facebook somehow, maybe loosening restrictions for self driving vehicles.
I somehow doubt any of those are that big of a deal to Elon, his companies are already successful and he’s already winning and the world’s richest man. But I think what Elon really wants from Trump, in his heart of hearts, is to take over the cult. We all know he’s a similar narcissist and probably wants what Trump has when Trump is too old or doesn’t need it any more. It feels almost like Succession, with Elon being Lukas Matsson, Jared being Tom Wambsgans, Don Jr. as Kendall, Ivanka as Shiv. Could literally play out that way

I know these are jokes, but everyone who isn’t undocumented or trans should be thinking about how they might keep someone else out of a camp/forced medical treatment. No one who isn’t one of those is headed for a camp regardless of who you voted for or donated to.

I really disagree. MAGA hates libs way more than they hate POC or trans people. We are heading for Night of the Long Knives Hitler before we get to concentration camp Hitler.
I could see such a thing against “the deep state.” At best, definitely believe that they will follow through on their threat/promise to boot thousands of good, decent people out of civil service jobs and mock them on the way out.
We’re already close to concentration camp Hitler. There’s plenty of infrastructure in place.

America is a nation full of mutts though so the “I determine who is a…” line applies in full force here.
The determination for who goes into these camps won’t simply be blood or skin color. That’s part of it, but it’s undocumented and maybe homeless people. I don’t think there are any camps for trans coming, but forced medical treatment is on the table.
Of course these things are already happening to some degree, so it’s going to be easy to continue to overlook an expansion of the same while you’re looking for Adam Schiff to get shot or the local Democratic Party organizer to get sent away.
Yes, the ratching up of anti-immigrant and homeless enforcement is inevitable at this point but if the opposition is disappeared then the ratching will only be increased over time and never reversed.
