Elon Musk: I, for one, welcome our new pasty overlord

This is making the rounds. Im sure there is context to it and possibly a setup for a joke, but the fact im not 100% sure of that is troubling.

This meme would make a lot more sense in an alternate universe where California abandoned its HSR plans at Musk’s behest.

He’s far from the only person that has tried to stop or delay it, but it’s hard to argue with his own admission

Don’t know what context you’re looking for. He just had a stand-up special on Netflix and this is a clip from it.

Bakersfield to Merced, coming in 2034 bitches!

Exactly this. Russian bots follow and engage with Loomer, Loomer gets paid by twitter for content creation.

Loomer says something Russia doesn’t like? 50k bots unregister to send her a message.

Loomer says something Russia really likes? 100k new bots.

Nothing ever needs to be communicated explicitly. No direct payments.

I’m not saying I know this is happening, but it sure could be happening.

Elon literally #wellactually-ing the prime minister lol. Your fucking piece of shit website has inflamed 90% of this violence by spreading utter bullshit like wildfire. You have the political understanding of an 80 IQ 9 year old. Please fuck off forever.

The only thing she gets wrong is it turns out those ARE Western Christian values.

Twitter to its users: Free speech! Free markets!

Twitter to the courts: please force private companies to give us money and please stop people from saying things we don’t like

I’m old enough to remember when actual people said that Musk, a serious businessperson, would never spend tens of billions of dollars to buy Twitter just to destroy it.

He’s not destroying it, he’s turning it into a right-wing propaganda machine. Every major change he’s made has been to that end: eliminating blue checks and elevating paid blue checks in the replies, hiding the source of likes, monetizing engagement, and now hiding even showing likes and replies at all in replies (so he can find the perfect algorithm that elevates right-wingers to the top of the replies w/o any scrutiny).

The whole system is set up for incels and Russian bots to pay Elon, and Elon to dole some of that money back out to Lara Loomer, catturd, and Ian Miles Cheong. To the ultimate end of convincing normies that right-wing positions are a lot more popular than they actually are.

Checking in on X. I’m not sure this person took the intended message away from Django.

This seems like the best thread for this: I just rode in a Waymo driverless car. It drove very very well, was cautious without being too cautious. A+ experience, would ride again. I would probably choose it over a human in some circumstances. I have a video I can post but would need to do some editing if anybody cares to see it.
