lol, clicked on Yglesias to see, and watched my own check disappear as the page updated.
my company went through some process to have a bunch of people verified – I wonder what they spent on that … hopefully we’re done with this platform. 90% of my use is following links from here.
Are you the Wendy’s roaster?
A class of 5th graders could have figured out a better strategy for for handling blue checks than Elon and his team, literally. Give them a day, they would do better.
One option would of course be to do nothing and keep things as they were. It was unwieldy but it gave Twitter a ton of cacha.
Maybe someone can make a third party app that compares usernames vs profile names and adds a purple checkmark when they match.
Twitter is just maybe done.
i wouldn’t put it passed elon to try and do this to people like stephen king and lebron(who also has that same message). the high profile people that were adamant that they were leaving… just switch them over to blue, say they bought in and lied to the masses, and then deny deny deny.
Literally every week we get further evidence that we’re truly stuck in the stupidest possible timeline
Would be so hilarious if LeBron and King etc just delete their accounts
I swear to God I was going to speculate that he would say he paid for them himself.
and this guy knows scary
Twitter started dismantling my API usage (weirdly I had three accounts on the go and it locked one of them out and the other two were still working) so I switched over to this unofficial API I found. Took maybe a couple hours to write the code to use it and it’s $100 a month. Works great, bit more latency which I don’t care about but other than that functions identically. I’ll hold onto the old code for the official one as on current trends I expect Elon to start paying me to use it at some point.
You see, Elon is to rockets, what Henry Ford was to the assembly line
