Yes but we say that every six months
Getting 1M+ people killed is different. And if it isn’t I’m ready to acknowledge that we can’t beat them and stop caring.
Anyone who thinks they know what’s going to happen over the next few months is fooling themselves. Like there’s a decent chance the general election doesn’t happen and there’s almost no way the dems actually have the convention as planned. But in general, I’d think a massive pandemic that targets olds would give the guy who gets most of the young votes an amazing chance of winning, but you guys do you.
I hope you’re right. For the record, I have the same sentiment no matter how many times it’s defeated. Resilient optimism is a part of my nature. I just wonder each time whether this will be my limit.
This situation is so crazy that if they survive it it’ll snap me out of my optimism.
Who were you on 2p2?
Yeah but her emails.
The magnitude of the shift would have to be massive beyond plausibility. Biden wins with voters over the age of 40 by a large margin. His national polling average is +20 on Bernie. Even if the turnout skews insanely so that people under the age of 40 make up a majority of the voters, and this leads to Bernie winning the remaining states by +10, outperforming his polls by 30 points (!), it’s still not good enough. He still doesn’t have a majority. Biden is still the nom. Fivethirtyeight’s model doesn’t just say Biden is a lock because they have the neoliberal shill switch toggled on. That’s just what the delegate math is.

Like I’m Fucking Trying
I feel like I’ve seen 15 different UBI-type proposals from different senators/congresspeople over the past two days. why not decide on one? yeesh.
It would be very on brand for Congress to insist on a big debate about the details of the program while citizens are dying.
Because most of congress would never support the bill that’s actually needed (give basically everyone cash or at least a loan). So they each have to make a proposal that plays to their base.
This would actually be good, but I don’t see it happening. Like not even most dems would support it. I’m swinging back and forth from a little nervous to kinda scared because I really don’t know what happens when millions of people run out of money with no paycheck in sight.
CNN Exit Poll in Florida on Medicare For All: 57% Support, 32% Oppose
Current results: 61% Biden, 22% Bernie.
Jesus Fucking Christ Florida.
Ezra Klein is the personification of “meh.” He’s fine. Never once have I heard him say anything that changed my mind, ever. He seems way more concerned with sounding smart than ever achieving anything.
Fucking insane they let the primaries today go forward, such great democracy in USA #1

The parade of establishment hacks calling for Bernie to drop out has me freshly enraged and more determined than ever to not vote for Joe fucking Biden.
