Democratic Primaries 2020 - Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Honestly what these fucking hacks are making joe go through is borderline criminal. Like har har funny takes and all but if the same people had signed him up for an amway subscription rather than a presidential run they’d be going to jail.

I think I’m finally coming to terms with what the demEs are actually saying when they argue against bernies chances of beating trump. It’s just flat out, “Bernie can’t beat trump because I won’t vote for bernie!” They’re supporting a guy who can barely campaign because the alternative is voting republican. and lots of them are on this board doing it now.

Yeah, it’s legitimately sad in a not trying to score political points way. I spend a decent amount of time in memory care units. I’m personally offended by this.

I was wondering why people started booing when I was watching the Bernie rally. That’s pathetic and makes me ashamed to live in the same state as that asshole.

Wait, you lost me.

I was in the middle of making a reply to your other post that I think addresses this, but go on.

I’m grateful that Bernie showed us a movement of young people is meaningless compared to the power old people wield.

Someone made a repository of ghoulish things people said about Bernie and his supporters. We’re the mean ones though for saying their views are abhorrent while they wish death upon him.

And further, their views are abhorrent and actually having a real, lasting negative impact on the entire world. So please, do tell me more about how the snake emoji forced you to vote for people to continue to have a shitty quality of life.

Arggggggggggggh. People suck. We deserve what we’re about to get at this point.

But despite an almost limitless budget, the Bloomberg campaign would learn that money can’t buy loyalty. Staffers described an almost total lack of belief in Bloomberg himself. “Most people knew this was a grift,” one campaign official explained, describing even leadership as being unwilling to fulfill basic campaign responsibilities. “At our first office meeting, my [director] said, ‘We don’t need to canvass. We can just make calls, right guys?’ And everyone was like, ‘Yeah, that’s sensible.’”

Multiple people described elaborate schemes to undermine the campaign and help their favored candidates. As one staffer explained, “I would actively canvass for Bernie when I was supposed to be canvassing for Mike. I know of at least one team of ‘volunteers’ that was entirely fabricated by the organizers who had to hit their goals. It was easy enough to fudge the data to make it look like real people put in real volunteer work, when in reality Mike was getting nothing out of it.”

Another staffer said, “In San Diego, the regional organizers also exploited the campaign’s resources, staff, and infrastructure for local races they either were running in or consulting on.”

While the campaign had ambitious quotas for things like phone calls or doors, many staffers simply faked their numbers. “Many campaign staffers—including myself—had to juke the stats in order to keep up with these impossible goals,” one explained.

This should play well…

Didn’t say it would be easy.

It’s all good, they weren’t going to vote anyway

Yeah. If they don’t come out in the primary for Bernie, why will they come out in the general for Biden?

It was tough for Biden who had to take time off from studying for his three degrees to march alongside MLK to Robben Island to free Mandela only to be arrested.

I understand the grieving process that is on display here, even if I think it’s premature. And while I personally will have no qualms voting for any Dem nominee against Trump, I also understand the anger at the fact that Joe Biden is somehow looking like a favorite to be the nominee (he clearly sucks pretty bad).

And, to a degree, I understand the need to cast blame for Biden’s endurance and rise (f the media, f the eDems… not sure about f Warren in particular but whatever).

But at some point, people also need to realize that Bernie is, apparently, simply not a great candidate. I understand he faces massive obstacles that a moderate Dem doesn’t, but if he couldn’t motivate enough people to come out and vote for his message against Biden, I don’t see how he’d ever find a way to do it against Trump.

When Warren became unrealistic, I switched to Bernie because if Trump can lose, I wanted him to lose to Bernie’s vision and to the demographic I hoped he’d turn out. But (so far at least), not enough people are buying that vision, and not enough of that demographic has been motivated to turn out. Where are they?

If he had fair media coverage he would have no problem getting people to vote for his message against either Biden or Trump. If Biden was treated the way Bernie is, he would have single digit support.

It’s insane that your takeaway from this is that Bernie is just a bad candidate. There is no candidate that will satisfy Maddow or Todd or the WaPo editorial board if they’re also calling for a wealth tax or socialized medicine.

Ouch

You think the Dem candidate is gonna get fair media coverage in the general? I think you guys are wearing blinders at the moment.

I hope he turns things around, but he’s not drawing enough voters to him right now.

I think Biden will win because I suspect those who aren’t necessarily fans of his, whether on the left or independent or just disengaged, liked Hilary a lot less.
