Democratic Primaries 2020 - Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?

Sean used the phrase on the tip of my tongue:

All of these old white ghouls who have gone their whole lives thinking that Letter from Birmingham Jail they had to read in freshman year Poli Sci has good things to say about them. It must be jarring.

Don’t worry, Warren endorsement definitely coming very soon!

https://www.washingtonpost.com/nation/2020/03/06/warren-sanders-maddow-bullying/

Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.) called out Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) for not taking steps to control the “organized nastiness” of some of his supporters during the presidential campaign.

“It’s not just about me,” Warren said in an interview with MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow on Thursday following her decision to suspend her campaign for the Democratic nomination. “I think that’s a real problem with this online bullying and sort of organized nastiness. … I’m talking about some really ugly stuff that went on.”

While politics has become riddled with such behavior, she said it was a particular problem with Sanders’s supporters. “It is. It just is,” she told Maddow.

Any day now.

Being wrong on Warren has been almost as disheartening as Bernie losing. If people like her in the party will turn their back on their supposed progressive values over tweets from supporters of another candidate then nothing has any hope.

Also how can you be so thin skinned to still be whining about this after you quit.

I’m hoping that part only took up seconds and there was meat in the interview, with the demo of a Maddow viewer being exactly the person who needs to nibble on said meat. The Lord has not granted me the strength to watch it yet.

You’re a more optimistic person than me :/

Someone hasn’t seen this yet:

Jesus christ. Maybe Biden is winning because people can relate to his level of brain damage.

That’s not my point at all.

Her endorsement is a form of political capital. She should spend it where it has the most influence. We can disagree about the most efficient way to use that political capital, we can disagree about how much we weight certain inputs and the value of certain outputs, but I don’t think we should disagree about the basic calculus behind the decision.

It’s amazing there’s a subset of people that call themselves progressive until they see a mean tweet then they say fuck a progressive agenda. Just absolute clowns

Also glad Warren is using her time after not running to talk about mean tweets. Jfc

And let’s get real, who does this, not just the Liz part but the entirety of the field, sound like?

Trump supporters. Not even the crazy ones but the average chud. The same rhetorical tics and tricks. The same fallacious nonsense.

Like,

“You’re being mean and saying I’m a white supremacist just because we have different political views!”

“Um, uh, is one one of those political views about the supremacy of the white race? Do you have worms in your fucking brain?”

but I honestly didn’t think we’d get to,

“You’re being mean and saying I don’t care about people getting sick and dying or getting crushed by medical debt just because we have different political views!”

“Um, uh, is one one of those political views about not supporting the m4a guy? Do you have worms in your fucking brain?”

Personally I just feel like an asshole for stanning for someone who voted for Reagan twice and said she’s a capitalist to her bones. Like she fucking told us and we didn’t believe.

I don’t think she has a moral duty to endorse Bernie.

I don’t think ‘mad’ is even the best descriptor. I feel depersonalized and derealized.

I was more than prepared for Bernie losing the primary and/or general but it going down in this specific manner? After being the first ever to win the popular vote in the first three states and then having the ghouls, who already had the mask ripped off, rip off that mask and show there’s an even more ghoulish visage under the first ghoul mask?

Naw homey.

Remember I posted this before ST:

Yeah, when basically the entire Parliamentary Labour Party spent 2 years trying their best to undermine and get rid of Corbyn then bricked themselves and ramped up even further when it looked like he might really have a chance it was a very clarifying moment. Clarifying and devastating. They used the “we like him but he is unelectable” self fulfilling prophesy too (then they broke the glass on the anti-semite emergency button when they really panicked). We need to figure out the cheat codes for that because it is super effective.

It’s all money. It’s so damn depressing.

The cheat code is form an independent funding apparatus and primary the fuckers. Corbyn needed to institute mandatory reselection to keep the plp in line but he was never ruthless enough to play at this level.

To extend the the shit metaphor, it’s like I knew 98% of them were 98% full of shit but it’s more like 100% of them and they’re so past 100% filled that the shit is overflowing, shooting up in fountains and cascading down over everything. A world of shit.

They’re Weekend At Berniesing a dementia addled old man rather than just accept the way the wind is blowing!

Speaking of which:

They’re Weekend At Berniesing a dementia addled old man rather than just accept the way the wind is blowing!

Here’s a secret: I like Joe. We don’t align politically but, and I’ve said this once before, the attacks on him and his legacy are overblown. This is him in 2016 speaking eloquently about how Bernie Is Good:

But now he has dementia and is politically empty, and the attacks about that are meant to highlight just how far they’re willing to go to thwart any incremental progress and change. Uncle Joe is just an unfortunate casualty in that fight.

I am aware you don’t think this.
