Dead and nearly departed Covidiots

It’s not regardless of their intentions and beliefs though. They broadcast their intentions and beliefs proudly and loudly on social media. Their intentions and beliefs are deplorable. Let us dispense once and for all with this fiction that deplorables don’t know what they’re doing. They know exactly what they’re doing.

Sorry, my Rubio bot is stuck.

Every single one of the persons brought up in the previous thread has been actively pushing anti vax propaganda in the midst of a global pandemic. Actively attempting to kill more people and further hurt our lives. There was confusion as to one single person who might not posted any, but quickly after it was proven she was even worse than we thought.
Saying they are ‘misinformed’ is ridiculous. They are not less informed than anyone who choses to believe the white race is superior.

If this changes in the future lets regroup. In the meantime it seems to me like the (previous) thread title held true in all cases.

Not if they actually believe the Facebook propaganda they’re consuming.

Do you think the KKK don’t believe the propaganda they’re consuming? How is that an argument? Are they also just ‘confused’ and not bad people?

The correct argument in this case could be that the thread should be ‘bump when bad people -with power- die’ and not just ‘bad people’. That is a valid argument I suppose, although I could argue that in a pandemic these biological terrorist hold significant power

At least two people were ok with mocking the people antivaxers infect, one of whom after I pointed out that’s what they were doing.

A Venn diagram of Covid deniers and people who think AOC and probably most of the people on this board deserve to be executed for treason/communism/whatever would be nearly just one big circle. I mean hell thousands of them took off work to travel to DC to literally try and do it. If you don’t think these people know what they are doing you are just factually wrong.

There are lots of dumbasses out there that fall for ant-vax stuff and crystal pyramid healing and what have you. I don’t buy this take that being extremely gullible means you should be terminated with extreme prejudice.

Absolutely not IME. While they definitely lean heavily Trump, there’s the hippy dipshits and JiggsCasey everything is a conspiracy morons too.

Those are the vast minority of the current Covid denier crowd and certainly not the vocal ones being discussed in these threads.

I mentioned before that this isn’t the case everywhere and gave the obvious tidious example I always give. The leading antivax voices in Israel are def not from the traditional right wing deplorable sphere.

It’s interesting as to why in the US the correlation seems so much stronger

I’ve seen a few of the Jenny McCarthy era antivaxxers actual post about getting the covid vax. Not exactly sure when they changed their mind.

On the jam band concert pages there are definitely some antivaxxers complaining about vax requirements but almost all old Trump voters.

It is very funny to see people coming up with these elaborate rationalizations to sublimate the fact that hating the outgroup just feels good. “Oh me? No, I’m not taking pleasure in that person’s death because I hate them, I’m a very enlightened person. It’s actually just good praxis, you see. If you consider the game theory implications… mumble, mumble… actually punching up… trails off…”

Yeah i was thinking the same when i read “they are just gullible people”

I’m fine with punching down.

Hating the outgroup is ok if the outgroup is assholes. Nazis used to be an outgroup too.

Tbf, I outlined above that I know my grave dancing makes me a worse person. It doesnt quell my desire, just makes me feel further self loathing

Half of Republicans are literal Nazis now. They just don’t call themselves that because they don’t want to be accused of being SOCIALISTS.

Three conspiracy theorists walk into a bar. That can’t be a coincidence!

So you’re saying you’re not indulging in a guilty pleasure and tricking yourself into thinking it’s somehow noble, you’re actually heroes. Like the Allied armies that defeated the Nazi Empire.

I see.

It’s a guilty pleasure and they deserve it. These things aren’t mutually exclusive.
