Interesting, I was playing at the Hard Rock in Hollywood and Iâd say 20% of players were masked up. They also just had a massive poker series/super spreader event at the HR, while Jacksonville canceled their upcoming one.
Also some major obnoxious anti-vaxxers every once in a while at the cash games at the Hard Rock, feels good taking their money.
It sucks knowing I could be contributing to the spread, but I suck at online and crush live and earnings have been lean in the last year and a half, so at this point you gotta do what you gotta do. Iâve had covid and fully vaxxed with Pfizer and wear a mask at the table, so

Mask mandate went back in to effect at midnight. Supervisors (poker room) went around handing out masks to everyone who didnât have one. Saw one guy wearing it on his head like a birthday hat âwhat im wearing the stupid fucking thingâ style. My god I hate people.

I wonder how the vaccination rate would change if hospital systems announced that they would admit and treat vaccinated people and would turn aside unvaccinated people no matter why they come there. Let them find a hospital that doesnât believe in vaccinations. Let them find doctors who donât believe in vaccines. Its getting to the point where doctors and nurses are having to pick and choose who gets admitted and who doesnât based on how old and sick they are. Let vaccination status be the criteria instead and lets see if things change.

n = 1,355. There was actually a small decrease in morbidity - hospitalization RR 0.91 (95% CI 0.69-1.19), mortality 0.82 (0.44-1.51) - but as you can see from those confidence intervals, well within random variation. This wonât settle the question by itself, but itâs another instance of a well-designed RCT failing to find a clear signal.
(The trial isnât published or peer-reviewed, but it was presented at a symposium on Aug 6th and itâs an adaptive trial, meaning they use the same setup to keep testing COVID drugs iteratively, so there are not going to be any issues with it).
