COVID-19: Chapter 5 - BACK TO SCHOOL

New Orleans had 12 cases on 1.2% positive. I hereby declared Covid to be DEFEATED. Until Tulane opening up re-fucks us, that is.

Ohio is officially OPEN FOR SPORTS

Florida death totals make no sense from an offset standpoint

Florida numbers have never made a ton of sense. They have 2500 “backlogged” deaths or something insane.

Well I assume the plan (like other universities) is to bring the kids in, rely on 18-20 to be responsible in any way, rona spreads like wind-carried fire, send them all back home to their families and that’s that. Close?

Pretty much, as well as a heavy dose of sharing as little as possible about who was infected with teachers and classmates. Really a banner moment for higher education in this country.

You missed the KEY STEP

I think it is exactly this. Trump has said shut up and open the schools or else, so everyone is opening and praying when things get bad that he will say fine, you followed my orders, no one could have predicted there would be an outbreak like this.

Starting September 1st, masks will be mandatory in most indoor environments and public transportation in the Czech Republic.

Unlike last time where there was near 100% compliance, we’re definitely looking at an America type of situation in which a bunch of people think it’s a bullshit conspiracy and refuse to wear them. Unless police are actually enforcing it with fines, I sincerely doubt anybody will speak up and call people out on their lack of masks.

You must have a BCC of 0.0 to go into a public place.

Gonna need a cite for that.

Their rapid test was still nasal swab from what I found.

I haven’t seen where there is actual saliva rapid test in use somewhere yet.

The whole rapid test being a gamechanger thing really ignores the fact 60% of the country are ignorant morons who will refuse to do it out of principle. Businesses won’t make anyone do it because of $$$. The people willing to do it are the ones already taking precautions.

It was a spit into a cup test in some news story I saw. It had a ton of people socially distanced in chairs at an airport waiting for their result. I wish I could remember where I saw it.

I’d say there is huge variance of the experience depending on the person administering. I’ve been tested 3 times, and they’ve been 1) very bad 2) very, very bad, and 3) not bad at all.

Also I’ve had multiple people tell me they’ve only had one nostril tested, but I’ve had ten seconds on each nostril for all three tests, which occurred at two different locations.

I wonder though if less aggressive swab means less accurate test.

Didnt know you were a SVer.

We really do need a norcal meet up when this is all over

Less aggressive is likely less sensitive

Well this is fucked.

Remember I said Mrs Rugbys uncle died from covid last week?

Her cousin and aunt are now sick. (They were doing fine/asymptomatic before)

They are both struggling now. But can’t find a hospital to take them. Mix of hospitals being full or being told they aren’t sick enough!

Everyone frantic. But most of the family not even in the Philippines.

I’ve told them about lying on their front. But no idea if I’ve even told them to do it properly. Aunt and cousin just self isolating on their own sick.

In the USA? Hospitals are required to admit people if they need to be admitted.
