Starting to feel a little more optimistic today. All but 2 people in Kroger were wearing a face mask and all those had nose covered.
Of course bars and restaurants are still open and here comes schools, but masks will help a ton to slow the growth so we don’t get the complete darkest timeline

A Czech vaccinologist claimed to successfully treat himself and his son with something called inosine pranobex. I have no idea what it is and I’ve only found this in Czech articles (aside from the article below).

That was posted months ago but was apparently just picked up on a Czech website today.
I haven’t found any scientific studies testing this though. So I’m pretty skeptical. But I also don’t know anything about this. A bunch of you do. What’s going with this here?
COVID has changed a lot of things, and most of them for the worse. But in the “let’s keep it the same after COVID is over” column is the California DMV.
I just went, without an appointment, to renew my DL and turn it into a RealID. Because I filled out something online beforehand, they put me in the appointment line, and I was in and out in less than an hour. And it wasn’t particularly uncrowded today, either: the non-appointment line was around the back of the building like usual.
It was shockingly efficient and easy.

I was going to go tomorrow but that is my actual birthday and I just didn’t want to spend my birthday at the fucking DMV.
Yeah, just make sure you fill out the online thing and save the email confirmation they send you, then walk up to the appointments desk for your number.

I was excited at the start of lockdown when they said they’d give a renewal grace period due to COVID. Then I found out it was only until July 31st. So yay, I got a 1 day grace period.

Looks like a possible treatment, but I’d wait until it goes through clinical trials and whatnot.
Have people considered the masks might be giving them covid? As usual the USA is leading the way in paradigm-shifting.
Florida is closing testing centers tomorrow. Why you ask? Because there’s a tropical wave EAST of Puerto Rico that might impact the state checks notes next week.

They have already been scaling back testing for a while now. The national narrative has been shifting to a “plateau” of cases in Florida even as positivity sits at record highs day after day. So why not double down to really get over the hump and get those case numbers down.

No way. People here aren’t that stupid. The spike in cases is clearly coming from areas (restaurants, bars, clubs) where people are intermingling in tight spaces and not wearing masks.
“Stop killing people!” was the immediate thing I thought of.
