Responding to the interview, Elon Musk, the billionaire businessman who endorsed Trump’s presidential bid, said on social media: “The head of the Secret Service and the leader of this security detail should resign.”
Well that’s it then. Elon says fire the slackers, get somebody more hardcore. Problem solved.
The only positive we have going for us right now is that Musk cannot become president.

Handled about the best way possible. The opener said “Some crazy news out today but youre here for a comedy show amd we are going to laugh tonight, so we are not gonna touch on it any further than right now where im saying 'damn, thats some crazy shit ya’ll.”
And then it wasnt brought up again.

Couple showerthoughts I just had about this. The first was the horrible realization that now we’re not even going to get to see Biden face the fact that it’s his fault that the Dems lost. Now he’ll just claim he was poised to make a comeback until this happened. It’ll be the “Sandy changed everything” of this campaign.
The other thing, which followed from this, is that I wonder how much the Biden situation played into this guy’s decision to try to assassinate Trump. You would have to assume that if the Dems had some amazing Obama-esque candidate who was crushing Trump in the polls, this guy wouldn’t bother getting himself killed. So there has to be some tipping point beyond which he concluded this was what he had to do. I don’t think it’s out of the question at all that the trainwreck of the last week or two was that tipping point. I guess I’m assuming here that this was politically motivated and not some Hinckley/Foster style situation, but I think that does seem most likely.
