Can individuals/groups file criminal charges in Ohio? Normally it takes a DA or AG.
According to the article, yes. I assume there is some fine print that allows a judge to throw it out based on whatever and Trump skates as usual though.
The Chandra Law Firm says the nonprofit used a state statute allowing private citizens to “file an affidavit charging the offense committed.”

Ohio is weird. You used to not be able to sue the state/state entities.
Then at some point they added the court of claims (constitutional amendment?) that formed a court specific for that. Prisoners sue, suits against state schools, etc. the wife clerked and worked there for a couple of years when we first met. No juries. Had their own judges who I think were generally retired judges from the regular court system.
