There’s lots of stuff people don’t need that they should be able to buy as a consenting adult. I don’t see why flirty or even sex bots shouldn’t be included in that.

This map isn’t up to date. Utah is planning for the largest data center “campus” in the world, 10 gigawatts. Insane.

GPT-5 gave me a recipe for grapefruit orzo last night that was perfectly serviceable. Not sure where that falls on the AGI scale.
I had to ask chatgpt what grapefruit orzo is. Gave me a good explanation.

The best info I can find on the internet is that the original chocolate shop in Dubai started selling it in 2022, so they would have to have been a VERY early adopter of ChatGPT to use it in recipe development. Could you argue that algorithms helped make it go viral on social and could some company maybe have used AI to identify it as a hot food trend before making their own version? I’m sure that’s possible.

Altman’s not crazy, he’s simply allowed to make up stuff on the spot because that’s how the business press works. He doesn’t actually think we’ll be making Dyson spheres to power ChatGPT.
I lost my mouse/keyboard dongle so I had to download the Logitech control software to get a different dongle to talk to my mouse/keyboard. Logitech Options of course now has some kind of AI feature. Logitech, the mouse company.
Reminds me of when my coworker left to go work for Technicolor on their social media platform. Technicolor, the movie color people.

But does he actually think the world will be covered in AI data centers? Does he actually think he’s going to get trillions to train the next step in ChatGPT evolution? Or is his pitch that this week only we can buy in for the low, low price of only $100B or whatever?
He’s a scam artist, he says whatever nonsense he can get away with. Which is a lot, bc the business media is absurdly servile.
