You’ll probably never know the answer with the millions bots on Twitter. As Drew Magary pointed out, none of it matters. As soon as Bluesky gets big, it will be infested w/ bots and ads and we back in the same place as we were w/ Twitter. It’s the critical problem w/ social media. The beast feeds itself.

It’s like 200M vs 20M. I think bluesky has enough users that it’s now a good social network, and it will have 30M soon. A large number of the 200M on Twitter are inactive.

r/nfl is now second to none for game day threads IMO. The redzone thread is there for all fans/matchups, plus they still have individual game and team threads.
I’m enjoying BS but still go to Reddit during nfl and CFB games.
I refuse to get into reddit. I have enough terminally online venues.

Reddit is the best imo. The up vote mechanic really works. It’s basically what Elon killed on Twitter. Niche subreddits are great. A problem with reddit is too many comments on breaking news or election nights, or even gameday threads. Another problem is that it’s now in the hands of investors and they’ll probably eventually kill it for quarterly returns. Bluesky seems committed to open platform, and that seems mostly quite good.

I agree. Reddit can be legitimately very useful.
Everyone I know who reddits spends more time on it than I do on twitter/bluesky and FB combined. I’m avoiding social reddit specifically because I assume it will suck me in. I use it for google and that’s it.
There are just too many people there who are wrong though, once you get started you’d never stop correcting people…

make your profile pic a middle aged woman and edit your handle to something androgynous/non-gendered. I get none of that bullshit, and I also avoid incels sending dick pics.

My Bluesky followers are all real people. One person I recognize from NPR! I am friends with a couple mildly recognizable media figures, I have to imagine that’s how these people saw anything from me in the first place.
