Bailout / Stimulus Discussion (Hints Missed & Shartz Fired)

Got $24,900 EIDL yesterday.

PA UA

For simple math let’s say my max benefit is 533.33 and min benefit is 160. (My numbers are slightly different).

I can earn up to 160. After that I lose dollar for dollar up to 533.33 as long as I’m less than full time. These are per week. So basically i gain

Hour 1 +160
Hour 2-5.5 roughly I gain nothing extra by working
Hours above that I gain 160/h.

I have a 20 hour proposal out I’m pretty sure im going to get. I cannot shift to August so my best is to Bill all the hours in the same week. I have no idea what happens to the Fed $600 kicker.

So complicated.

At least in CA you get the 600 kicker as long as you get $1 in unemployment for the week.

Your best bet is almost surely to slam them all into one week.

Finally got the portal email for SBA EIDL $$$. Approved for much more than 24,900 but going with 24,900 for the reasons Danspartan mentioned. Can anyone tell me what limitations I have on using this money for? Is there any kind of documentation I have to send later to show what it was used for?

As predictable as it is infuriating:

Bipartisan (!!!) push to bail out commercial real estate borrowers??? JFC burn it all down. Literally everyone in CRE knows that part of the deal when borrowing CMBS is the complete lack of flexibility.

@Danspartan How long did it take after you signed the EIDL loan docs to see the $$$ hit your bank account?

3-4 days I think for the 24,900. No collateral.

For the early 3,000 I think it was 3 weeks.

Here’s a dumb Republican stimulus idea.

McSally is like… “My state’s a covid clusterfuck. Wanna get away?”

Lol, McSally is so far behind in the polls, shes just like. “Here! Vote for me! Take all the money you want if you just vote for meeeeeeeeee!”

Hahaha. I just read the proposal and its even worse than it sounds. It’s not $4k of cash given to you, it’s a tax credit. So you need the disposable cash right now to spend to be able to reclaim the money when you file next year. So for the 15% of people still unemployed youre SOOL. Or for anyone that can’t travel 50 miles from their house, so sorry for you.

BUT if you own a second house 50 miles from your primary house, any food or entertainment you spend while staying there will be free. Also no income restrictions. So all those NYC folks with houses in the Hamptons will get the tax break they so desperately need.

My PPP loan runs out Friday. When we received the loan you still had to use it within 8 weeks, so we paid our employees, even though several of them had literally no work to do at all (our assistants). So we’re going to need to let our assistants go, and further cut everyone else’s salaries. The remaining people are in theory at least in revenue generating positions, so will hold off on letting any of them go until it’s absolutely necessary. Unfortunately right now there’s almost nothing anybody can do to bring in more income.

Also about to start negotiations with our landlord. We’ve been current with rent up until this point but that needs to change. We’re one year into a six year lease so it’s going to get a little ugly with them I think.

I found out why my wife and I have not gotten stimulus $$$. We file married filing separately and at the top we accidentally clicked “someone can claim my spouse as a dependent” on both of our returns even though we obviously did not claim each other and no one claimed us. We have not filed 2019 yet. Should I amend 2018 or just file 2019 right away and see what happens?

My wife still hasn’t received any unemployment payments since May 28. The best part is that she has received confirmation online and via mail from DOL that she is eligible. Hasn’t even received the extra $600 weekly.

I would amend 18

This is why people need a cpa. :)

I filed in my state in March. I didn’t receive a check until a week ago. It’s frustrating for sure.

Pretty much zero chance the senate passes another round of unemployment extension, yes?

I dunno at some point Trump is going to lead the charge and the vulnerable R senators are going to be right with him. Maybe even Mitch.

Do you think there will be a second round of stimulus payments? I see new articles discussing CARES and HEROES, but Trump saw how little the previous stimulus helped his approval. He’s only concerned about what helps his reelection, not what helps Americans. I would sooner guess he doesn’t sign a bipartisan (but not veto proof) bill just to teach everyone a lesson. Don’t give him the approval he wants? You brought this on yourself.
