Bailout / Stimulus Discussion (Hints Missed & Shartz Fired)

When my old giant multinational did an SAP implementation they went to net plus infinity since SAP means Stops All Payments.

Thankfully I was gone. The vendor for pH and dissolved oxygen probes had their account in arrears for a million bucks. Pretty hard when the average item is a few hundred.

They stopped shipping probes. So people used purchasing VISA cards as a workaround. Then the probe company put an edict that even if the person from the fermentation company offered CASH they were not to sell any product until the account was caught up.

I eventually felt some of this pain when I became a vendor as a consultant for my old group.

Good news, boss must have talked to a lawyer and I’m now getting paid my full teaching hourly to work a bunch of hours a week doing grunt work which is not a bad deal really.

Boss is surely pissed but he must have realized if he doesn’t spend the money he doesn’t get to keep it. Capitalists suck so bad.

I love how the IRS doesn’t have a single soul that can man a customer support phone, or even field goddam emails. And it’s not like they’re doing the “emergency work” all that well either.

Should probably hire ten thousand more people, and establish a FAIR TAX w/tiers of 95% on marginal income and assets above $1billion, down to 50% on $1million, 25% on $250k, and 10% on $100k. Anyone making less + less in total assets pays nothing. Abolish the Sales Tax. Get rid of all deductions and credits. Add a UBI of $500 per person per month. Tax high speed financial transactions heavily.

They collect like 10x the cost of additional audit staff per hire annually. Strange, they still don’t hire and in fact keep cutting staff.

We are paying down the new roof bill.

Living it up

Update on my enrolled agent boss

We charged 1000-1250 for PPP loan apps

We had a conference call to go over firm policies for PPP loan forgiveness

Make sure we all know what clients need

We are also charging them for help with this

Time to save your soul when this is over with. It wears on a person to work for a slime ball.

I am sure a lot of dim business owners viewed it as a way for them to line their pockets and not the near pass through it was supposed to be.

You charged for loan apps and will charge extra for loan forgiveness?

I guess all your clients really need accounting help due to the fact they waste so much money on accounting they must be really bad at controlling their spending.

That the fee was not cradle to crave assistance is u unconscionable. Well at least if you do eventually go work somewhere else you wouldn’t have to worry about feeling bad poaching all their clients.

Yes there seems to be a common theme about surprise as to the forgiveness rules.

I looked at applying and I think smartly passed. But the documentation made it pretty clear that a lot (75%) of the money had to go thru to workers.

Im already 42. I have -0- desire to open my own place

I have a sweet gig here where I do bookkeeping 8 months of the year and tax returns 4 months of the year and get paid a manager salary

I know my boss is who he is so I don’t feel bad when working from home and I take it easy.

USA! USA! USA!

Reddit and the media in general were full of business owners saying “WTF, I have to use this all in eight weeks? My business is shut down, what good does this do me?” They missed the point that the money is supposed to go to the workers, not the owners. The way the loan works leaves some money left over for the the business to cover some other essential expenses, but that’s it.

With that said, the question of what happens after the eight weeks is a reasonable one, but the PPP’s purpose is clear.

The windfall is for businesses who were going to pay their workers anyway. These are, of course, larger, wealthier firms who are less impacted by the virus. It’s just a horribly designed program.

It’s almost like it was designed to be grifter and gobbled up by the big fish.

HOLY SHIT

That’s my EIDL. Anyone know the forgiveness rules? I thought it would be $1k max.

Stimulus due tomorrow!

The rules were changed/clarified as $1000 per employee, so you must’ve told them 3 people were employed.

Both of my EIDL loans were funded yesterday as well. I applied April 8th, I believe.

Yes we have 3. Me and the wife plus a guy that runs his billing through us for 5% (the wife is way to generous, but it pays for my accountant mostly).

Damn. I applied on the 7th and haven’t heard anything. I guess I’m not getting it or it’s not first come first serve.
