Worked for me now.
Same. Info entered.
FYI for those just entering info. I was able to enter mine 9 days ago. Still no payment and still no payment date listed on IRS website. So don’t get your hopes up for a quick turnaround.
Now I also have the ability to enter info. I haven’t tried yet because I do not have a copy of my 2018 taxes. For somebody that has successfully entered their info, what do I need from my 2018 taxes so that I can ask my accountant for this info? Is it just my AGI and the amount I owed in 2018?
Yes
eta: And they verify it. I entered the wrong line number the first try and got rejected.
Little Marco says PPP relaunching Monday morning.
Still doesn’t work for me.
Our bank was all geared up for today at noon.
I know nothing about technology but 4,000 banks flooding the portal with bots seems like something that is not going to go well.
And after finally getting to enter my bank info last night but then getting a “technical” problems message, I’m locked out for 24 hours.
They have scheduled 3 hours per night of system downtime starting last night and extending over the next few days. I think they are uploading these data during those times, so hopefully you will be all set no later than Monday or Tuesday.
Just worked for me this morning. Filed 2019 taxes about 2 weeks ago. Entered that information first and it said to try 2018 as 2019 may not be in the system yet or something like that. Did 2018 and it worked.
Worked for me this morning.
Then I entered my deceased mother-in-law’s info (I filed her 2018 return and handled her estate), and the IRS was willing to give me $1200 for her if I entered her info. Did some googling, and I wasn’t really sure if this was legal/ethical, so I exited out, but I assume they’d be mailing me a check anyways which could then be deposited into her estate account.
Is it wrong to enter DD info and distribute the $1200 to her beneficiaries?
Worked for me this morning
When did she die? My stepfather died in January of this year, and my mother received $2400 in the account where they received their 2018 tax refund. We haven’t done their 2019 return yet, and we will file 2020 for both of them, because he was alive for part of it. If your MIL died in 2018, it would seem to be clearly on the wrong side ethically, and 2020, clearly on the right side. 2019 would be a gray area, IMO, because the reconciliation of the stimulus will go on the 2020 return, which would not be filed for someone deceased in 2019.
Still unavailable for me. Denied unemployment too. Things aren’t really dicey for me and I’m sure I’ll get my cheese in time. Just a weird experience that leaves me anxious.
Well that sucks. Do you still have work?
Yes I’m okay. I’m a writer and a media consultant mostly for fiction properties but occasionally for nonfiction, memoirs, and now I write about movies and TV on the side. I’ve never made much money as a freelancer but continue to do well enough to be happy and survive. Some days I work long hours and wonder wtf I’m doing for so little money, especially in times of extreme economic insecurity like this, but it makes me happy so here we are over a decade later. I don’t like to say too much as I am very poor but more fortunate than a lot so just try to be grateful. I am getting more anxious by the day though. Or perhaps more aware of how anxious I already felt
Here’s hoping
Lol at asking if accepting money for pandemic relief on behalf of dead people is ethical. Maybe if you’re paying for a COVID funeral.
Based on my history of dealing with my parents’ estates, I think they would eventually try to claw that payment back. If they do send it, you could deposit in estate account or hold the check. But I would not use it for anything.
If they mail a check, I would probably not deposit it myself.
