I wish the daily barrage of Trump outrages would come with a couple disclaimers so I can properly calibrate my freakout level: 1. Did Biden do something similar? 2. Would a generic Republican President be doing the same thing but with less belligerent language?
NORMS would not do that but we’re not in those times. A bunch of non trump fans but old politics people aren’t getting various security clearances is low on the outrage meter. There’s plenty to get outraged by if you want.

Feels like we are already at the point that violence is the only possible future. The courts are being ignored, congress is being usurped, extrajudicial kidnapping and expulsion is now common place. The system has been fully dismantled in 60 days (the same time it took hitler).
The people talking about getting votes in two or four years are just delusional.
I hope I’m wrong but I really don’t think I am.

i kinda get why being anti vax is popular with MAGAs. it bodes well with the ‘you wont tell me what to do’ and ‘deep state’ boogie monsters.

I don’t know how much value they see in Greenland itself, but it has a lot of strategic value in protecting other interests. There are lots of minerals in the Arctic, many planes overfly it, our bases monitor Soviet/Russian submarine activity and have early warning systems for missile launches. So, you could see why the Russian might want to either control it themselves, have it controlled by an ally, or set up a situation where Greenland was just a small, independent country without a NATO presence.
