@otatop why did you lock the free Sabo thread? Unban but silence was not the request and there was a lively discussion going on.

Others have made this point but the main request I saw from PocketChads who started the thread was to at least give Sabo access to his PMs:

So Sabo needed to have an RFC at 60% to create a second poll to permaban him. But because you personally think that’s stupid, you’re going to err on the side of permanently punishing a user against the rules of the website, rather than correct the rule breaking, and then, if you think it’s needed, start a proper process to permaban Sabo after he at least gets to access his PMs and save info from them that is currently lost to him.

There’s a poll regarding keeping Sabo permbanned where a majority of posters voted to keep the ban in place and you’re asking mods to ignore those results because of technicalities that involve knowing precise timelines of events from 6 months ago. I’m choosing to uphold the results of the existing poll.

I unbanned but silenced Sabo as a compromise to allow him access to PMs while still abiding by the majority of voters who voted to keep him banned.

The issue was not resolved.

I disagree but I’m not a Godemperor or anything so if another mod wants to unlock the thread or unsilence Sabo there’s nothing stopping them.
