Abolishing the Police

The really should have to put quotation marks around “rescue”.

If they don’t put them around “serve” and “protect” then there’s really no point.

Still trying to figure out the tactical reason to have a super jacked up truck. Anytime anyone’s got to get out they have to make a 5 foot jump

Water rescues is the justification used by hometown that got a very similar vehicle. People seem to like driving through roads that are covered in water after big storms.

While I agree, the acquisition is through a federal program “1033 program” with the DOD that makes it easier and cheaper for law enforcement agencies to purchase these vehicles. It would be great if some legislation were enacted to enable fire departments to purchase them as well, but it isn’t that way currently.

I can barely imagine police rescuing people from a fire or natural disaster. All I got is them standing around while the fire fighters do it. Fire fighters are awesome. A lot of people have only the blue striped flag bumper stick or both blue and red. I feel like having only the red is almost trolling the police. If I got a red stripe flag sticker do you think any police would imagine that I left them off on purpose?

Literally 100% of them will think this. Dontcha know that the police are the real victims, thrown recklessly out on the harsh dangerous Urban streets with their HANDS TIED by weak liberals?

Substance abuse is a huge problem within the police force also.

Johnny I’ve heard some personal recollections of domestic violence with the perp being a police officer and they would literally turn your stomach. It’s sickening.

Like vs the general population? Pretty much every cross section of society has a substance abuse problem if someone bothers to look.

It’s a bigger problem within the police force than the general population. It’s late here now but I will find a source tomorrow.

This really misunderstands the Nordic model. It’s not designed to protect sex workers from violent men. It makes violence more likely by driving sex work underground. The people who advocate this terrible model do so because they assume all sex workers are helpless victims incapable of making a choice.

what is the nordic model for sex workers?

Chula Vista is south of San Diego. 805 is in San Diego. How do they call that “near Orange County”?

I get that wasn’t the point of the story and not doubting it. Just an aside.
