I did the exact same yesterday. The main city library seems shabbier since the last time I was there. One entrance and a whole floor were shut down. Most of the patrons are homeless. I hope we still have libraries a few years from now.
I hope we always have them. My Mom was a school librarian for a while, so I am a big fan. The library closest to me was actually closed for a few years while they completely renovated it to add more meeting spaces and build out some new facilities. They upgraded the computer area (even added some 3d printers) and put in a cafe. I hope the modernizations will keep it relevant and away from the budget ax for a long while.

I just put my ballot in the regular mail like a schmuck. I’m assuming no one is going to bother tampering with the votes in Ohio.

Did drop off at ballot box outside local library (like 4x4x4 ft cube). Confirmed yesterday that ballot has been received.
There’s a random free-standing ballot drop box at a park about ten minutes away from me, I walked mine over there a few days ago. Got the text from LA County that it had been picked up yesterday

I’m becoming more convinced that this is going to be a Republican sweep. I keep seeing this commercial on Long Island for a candidate for Congress. She talks a lot about being 2000 miles away from the Mexico border, but how “we feel the effects of the crisis every day”, promising to fight the score of fentanyl, and work with anybody to stop the migrant crisis. Of course this is…… the Democratic candidate for the House.
The good news is the migrant crisis is a binary toggle that switches when the republicans take over and immediately flips back for dems.
So if a red wave happens the migrant crisis will end before inauguration.

People three houses away from us, who are strange but to whom I’ve always been friendly, debuted their Trump sign today and were outside taking pictures with it. Ah well enjoy being dead to me.

I got money on reps winning both the house and senate but Kamala winning the pop vote. I may add Kamala winning election at 40cish but i havent done that yet
