We have stuff like Dred Scott in our history, I can’t imagine this ruling “trumping” some of the batshit historical rulings. Even in the last 10-15 years I’d put Citizens United above it.

I guess what I’m saying is the US Supreme Court has been garbage throughout almost the entirety of its existence, I’m not trying to litigate the harms this particular ruling might cause

A good contrast to these “comedybros” is someone like Ralph Barbosa who also played our venue. Same age range, but hes actually a comedian and not some grievancebaiting cloutchaser who would rather have applause than laughs at a comedy show. He told stories about his life and weaved in comedic observations and jokes about the situations. He used stereotypes and cultural observations in service of his jokes, not just to call Mexican beaners.
His claim to fame isnt that he got to call Tom Brady a f*g to his face (yes, Hinchcliffe said this directly in his set and did ten fucking minutes on this one thing, that isnt even a goddamn joke, that he got to say to Tom Brady.)
They are starfuckers and cloutchasers, who want nothing more than to get aa many people as possible to start saying hateful shit under the cover of “its just a joke duuuuude.”

Things like dreadscott and citizens united are very bad because we assume the context is a working democracy. Trump v US can end the democracy. All the other bad things don’t matter. Once Trump is a dictator he gets to decide who has rights, how money flows in shame elections, just as Putin gets to in Russia. I don’t see how that’s not worse?
I guess this is the crux of the issue. I view those cases as evidence against the “working democracy” theory
And there’s probably a little-to-big-domino-meme that you can make about stuff like Citizens United leading to the current state of things, which would include Trump (not the only cause obv, but certainly hasn’t helped)
