.5 miles from the ocean seems sufficient to not be washed away. I think your area is more prone to some kind of flash flooding thing than mine what with the runoff from the mountains.
Does that area at the bottom of sand dune park fill in with water when it rains? Seems like a local hollow. Maybe they have good drainage.
It is a low point and is a cool/cold spot, but it hasn’t flooded in the last…let’s see…16 or 17 years I think I’ve been here.
