Catch any cavaties before they get too bad? Idk that’s about all that ever comes from my every 6 month trips. When i need a filling or two i think i pay under $100 and the checkup is covered by insurance. They also can get the spot under my permanent retainer pretty clean, i can’t keep that area free of plaque.
The oral surgeon itemized the costs for us. The lady at the front desk even said we have great insurance - it covers 90%. But a whole bunch of shit, namely the medications, aren’t covered, so it’s still going to be over $1,000 out of pocket.
When my son was ~13 he had to have a medical procedure for which he was put under. In order to calm him for all the prep they gave him some “happy juice” which IIRC was liquid Verced. He got wasted and said stuff like “can we keep some of this at home?” and “everyone should feel like this all the time!”. It was funny but also disturbing :-/

This doesn’t make sense though, the thing that’s making people lose weight is the magic pill not the social contagion, or else social solution would have worked in the first place

What does title insurance cost? (Haven’t bought a house in 18 years)
I kind of get what he’s saying. In the US, I’m smaller & skinnier than most by far and it’s easy to become complacent about my weight.
In Japan, where everyone’s smaller & skinnier than I am, I feel a bit of self-imposed pressure to not be the big, bloated gaijin, and so I’m constantly trying to lose weight and be as slim & trim as the masses around me.
I’m pretty sure Noah lived in Japan as well so maybe this opinion is informed by a similar experience.
