2024 LC Thread: Name That Tune

Well, my lifelong hatred of Diddy is vindicated in the worst way.

When does Suge Knight get his apology?

Have you been following recent events? This is probably not the last shoe to drop. Multiple lawsuits, feds raiding houses, and his son was stupid enough to diss 50 Cent and Eminem (while also brag/snitching that they also own another house next door that the cops didnā€™t know about)

Have not followed at all. The only Diddy gossip I enjoy is this track, which is godawful but also if you know anything about Pharoahe Monchā€™s style, itā€™s blindingly obvious that Pharoahe ghostwrote it and Diddy just completely does not comprehend how the cadence works.

Combs stole his biggest hit (ā€œJuicyā€) from Pete Rock.

Iā€™m torn on this.

Because on the one hand, sheā€™s a vile vile person, who does things like funds anti climate change lies.

On the other. This is clearly misogyny and body shaming of a large woman in a way that a man wouldnā€™t be.

Maybe Nick can hook up with Milo and they could go to gay bars and, um, bash gays.

That is an A+ Santos Tweet. Heā€™s not without skills, he just lacks direction. (Of course, heā€™s literally one of these guys, so he knows the grift )

Back in July, one of his adult kids visited Temescal Canyon park near Pacific Palisades. A camera recorded Riceā€™s Prius rolling through a stop sign at the parkā€™s parking lot, resulting in a $100 fine for Rice, the registered owner of the car.

Yet it was not a violation of the vehicle code. It wonā€™t affect Riceā€™s driving record, and it was not a traffic citation. Instead, it was a fine for violating park rules, issued by the Mountains Recreation & Conservation Authority ā€” a local public agency dedicated to protecting local parkland.

Rice is not alone. The agency collects more than $1 million a year from such tickets.

Oh just fuck the hell off with this. Literally no one ever comes to a full stop in LA. Itā€™s knowns as the California Roll. This is just printing money based on arbitrary usual non-enforcement of strict stop sign laws.

Eh our streets are a lawless thunderdome, this wonā€™t help but at least it generates some money for parkland or something.

The part that pisses me off is every Los Angelino is conditioned to roll through stop signs from decades of non-enforcement. This is capitalizing on that.

Also if you read the comments on the article, it sounds like some of the stop signs are in ridiculous places where thereā€™s no crosswalk or anything.

I thought California Roll was a joke until I moved here. You all really do roll stop signs more than anywhere else Iā€™ve driven

I get pissed when Iā€™m behind someone and they come to a complete stop, because Iā€™m not expecting it.

I have never paid a camera ā€œticketā€ and (so far) zero negative consequences

I do a lot of walking around my neighborhood, both with and without my dog.

The problem is that most people gradually go from ā€œCalifornia Rollā€ to ā€œbriefest pauseā€ to ā€œas long as Iā€™m not actively accelerating through the intersection Iā€™m goodā€. Combine that with being glued to their phones and it can be legit dangerous to walk around a quiet leafy neighborhood, especially in the dark.

When they make me emperor driving is going to change a lot.
