States still control the elections. I’m very fearful of a Trump presidency, but I don’t believe for a second that there won’t be future elections. More riggage sure, but not to the point where nothing matters anymore
There is no reason to think we will not have a free and fair election in 2028.

Yeah this. Even if the GOP holds the house by a slim majority it’s 2016 all over again. There will be enough repubs that waffle on their main issues (ACA, Abortion) that they probably get nothing significant done. 2026 things swing back again because people in this country have zero attention span and that’s how things go now.
Trump packs the courts though. It’s going to be my kids and grandkids generations that will have to unfuck the courts now. Judges getting nominated to lifetime appointments are younger than me. I have sort of gotten use to the political polarization and the constant back and forth swings in the executive and legislative branches. But the republicans have run so insanely hot regarding the courts, and that really stings.

If they’re a high-risk pregnancy, then they might. If it’s just one that seems routine and something unexpected happens, yeah, then probably not in most cases for “normal” rich people.

I was holding some NO on Trump 10+ in Iowa for a bit and I sold it because I realised I had no idea how to price it because I didn’t know if the Selzer poll had any credence at all. I think what happened is that she used to be good, her methodology (which is very basic) flat out doesn’t work anymore, and that she luckboxed a couple cycles to cover this up.

I was very tempted to unload betting on this election. Thank god I didn’t. Losing worse than Hillary was not on my bingo card for tonight.

Harris is ahead in 2 of the 3 Nebraska congressional districts with 50% in, though the state as a whole has been called for Trump.
Explain to me how anyone will know what is real when they control 90% of social media in an age where voices and images can be cooked up from scratch?

Even I don’t think that’s happening and I was one of the most negative people here.
It’s not about facts, it’s about feels. People think gas is a gazillion dollars a gallon and eggs and milk cost a shitload. Of course tons of people believe “Republicans are better for the economy” (despite decades of evidence).
Messaging. Dems are shit at it and Republicans are good at hammering their false talking points.
