2022 NFL Gameday Thread: C’mon Damar (Part 1)

Just so I’m clear, replay assist is basically calvinball as far as when they decide to use it?

Yeah except when it goes silent like on the Chargers drop yesterday.

It’s the picking and choosing when to jump in that makes me nervous.

Complete Calvinball

Have declined to fix some mega egregious bullshit

Expedited replay for 100 percent of plays as an explicit rule would be good! The problem is just the Calvinball of when it is used. It had apparently been expanded for the playoffs with no notice.

And it applies to judgment calls like penalties, which challenging doesn’t. But it’s unclear which judgment calls and when. Just whenever they feel like it.

They picked up a DPI yesterday on impetus from NY.

I thought this forum was all about incremental improvements

Did they really? Yikes.

4th and inches.

Shotgun!

Am i taking crazy pills?

Yeah I think technically it’s the refs huddling to get the call right. But it seems pretty obvious NY is part of that huddle.

Sometimes the refs huddle up and pretend to discuss for a while. Are they just hamming it up while NY tells them what to call?

I’m pro this new thing as long as it isn’t biased towards a team

Who knows? Very opaque.

This is shaping up for a 2-pt conversion game decider.

Cincy should call TO

This clock management is the woat

Clock management for Ravens seems fine

Ran the playclock down to 7 seconds.

If they get a first down w/o a TD they’re going to wish they had more time.

Eh they are playing against Burrow and have 2 TOs. Id rather be here than 1 TO and a minute

They have 22 seconds now.
