2022 NFL Gameday Thread: C’mon Damar (Part 1)

gerald everett almost marshawn lynch’d them

Officiating truly absurd

been worse this year overall than normal for the NFL

this game they’re letting them play, gotta adjust to that

So, if I understand the NFL theory of reffing. LA is a bigger market than KC, so if those two teams meet, LA is going to get all of the reffing?

I’d agree wrt that non-PI call early on. I agreed with that, even if it was inconsistent with other calls.

On the other hand, not sure how wrong call of completed pass is “letting them play”.

I’m sorry you’re having trouble parsing the difficulty between predicting the success of young qbs and a ML bet on the Bills. They are extremely similar.

Maybe you could sleep on it. Just make sure to get the last word in before you do.

Haven’t really had a problem with most of the non calls, but this bullshit sometimes the league just overrules it but that’s fine is so egregious.

Maybe. But Mahomes is a big star too. I don’t know if the league ultimately wants Herbert to go to the SB. But they seem to want LA vs. KC as opposed to Jax vs. KC pretty damn bad.

That Rams game in 2018 was a joke. The refs were mysteriously replaced right before the game and the league never offered any explanation as to why. Then of course they came out calling a bunch of completely phantom defensive holding calls.

In the second half when the Chiefs were behind and they had an exciting shootout they seemed to settle down.

The “sometimes we fix obvious errors with the bat phone but usually not” policy is not acceptable

I understand it quite well. If that’s what you were after, maybe you should have just asked for that. As you said, your post was poorly worded. It was. And there are consequences to that. People are going to make you eat your words. Hopefully this will inspire you to do better next time.

My understanding it is a Good Place reference but I didn’t watch GP long enough to know it.

Told you guys. Trevor is Unitas reincarnated.

Yeah, that would be good.

Also isn’t there some rule about a touchback being spotted relative to where the kickoff took place. Maybe I’m really confused, but I thought if the kickoff is from the 50, then a touchback actually gives the other team the ball somewhere farther back than the 25 (maybe it’s the 15yd line).

Why did Al call it SUPER Wildcard Weekend?

Cause he got the bag duh

Total guess, but traditionally there have only been 4 wild card games, but with 7 teams there are now 6.

Literally impossible for the Chargers secondary to commit a penalty.

This is how refball works. Chiefs love to grab? Oh we won’t call it this game. Until we want the Chiefs to play a more competitive game and see a big Mahomes comeback, then we’ll make it a point of emphasis before the game.

They’re doing the first part with the Chargers now.

This is the same ref that threw a flag on Chris Jones for saying mean words to Matt Ryan in a gigantic spot that cost us the game.
