I’m pretty sure that’s exactly what happened.
The announcers briefly mentioned right after he was taken off that the players would have 5 minutes to warmup before play resumed.
Then the coaches talked and the players left the field.

I can’t even think of what they could possible show that wouldn’t be criticized in some way (“not taking it seriously enough”, “being insensitive”, “minimizing it”, etc.). It’s a completely no win situation.
