The crazy thing is gas isn’t even that high by any historical metric right now. I have driven through a good part of the country in the last few months and excluding the west coast most places are in the low-mid 3s. I saw sub $3 in Texas and Louisiana this past week. I’m guessing the NE is high also but I haven’t been that direction.

Interesting. Makes me wonder if the prices are more regional right now for some reason than they were previously or something. Gas prices here and in much of the region are very much on par with mid 2010s gas prices.
I don’t even remember what prices were like before February, I’ve just accepted the increase and get excited when I find a place that’s under $5 a gallon. CA not always GOAT.
The only restaurant I’ve found that operates at a similar level of efficiency is waffle house. Sitting at the counter and watching/listening to the operation is pretty entertaining.
