15-year-old me would have read the shit out of the books. Plus, I’ve only seen like two episodes and even I know about the Iron Throne. Its like impossible to escape learning about GoT through osmosis.
Books don’t matter. Memes only work with the photo from the TV show, movie, youtube, etc.
Maybe, but you’re not 15 now. The series would have started when you were six and ended when you were 13. Nevertheless, I don’t disagree that it’s possible.
I’m sure there are posters who would have tried to watch it at some point in their 15-and-under years because of boobies.
You’re thinking about what it was like when you were 15.
Those things are infinitely more accessible now. No way a 15 year old is sitting through an hour episode of GOT for 3s of boob.
I would be looking for naked pictures/video of specifically Maisie Williams if I were that age now.
lol, I would have been all over this show as a teen
Once again, watching an episode of GOT is unnecessary for that. The internet has already curated all of that for you. Being a teenager now is an entirely different experience. I’m not even sure what I’ll do with mine when they get to that age.
I was an atypical teenager. I’m sure I’d be more into reading physical books than most other teens if I were that age right now.

FWIW my Gen-X-aged Chinese immigrant boss thinks the Bernie memes are the funniest thing she’s seen in years.
I feel like some Gen-Xers are just discovering the true scope and power of memes with this.
I think a lot of the charm of the better memes is not just appearing in a pop culture reference, but also the change in the interpretation of Bernie’s surly expression and casual posture when in a new context. Like, the thoughts and emotional state you attribute to Bernie in the original context are wholly different from those you’d attribute to someone with the same facial expression but seated on the Iron Throne, or to one seated outside the shop from Clerks. The Jamie Lee Curtis meme isn’t very funny unless you know the contrast between a guy impatiently waiting for the inauguration to be over with a spy trying to stealthily play a prank on his wife.
Adults sat through hours of it to see boobies.
15 year olds tend to be more efficient about these things.
See, the meta-memes are the only funny ones.
exactly
though I did laugh at baby yoda with the gloves on and the WW2 one, but that’s just because i immediately thought, “hey, that could be a real picture!”
I wish Bernie would license that image so someone could create an action figure (with detachable chair), with the proceeds going to charity.
