My confidence overnight IIRC wasn’t based on the number of ballots out (I don’t think we knew that until Wednesday afternoon, when I called it). It was based on some factors in other counties that I thought would correlate, the original margin in-person, and my estimate going into the election of where Biden needed to be in the in-person voting in order to come back and win with the mail-ins.
I didn’t have a full model or anything like that, it was just sort of some general targets. Biden exceeded them by quite a bit, hence my extreme confidence. I wasn’t in all of the blue wall state markets on PI going in, I maxed them out somewhere in the wee hours iirc, based on my new confidence - I don’t know if it was early Wednesday when I did the full math, or overnight when I was basing it on the general targets. That made up for my bets on Texas, Montana and (presumably) North Carolina.
I never went all the way out to the 200K range, I went 75K-150K and tbh I adjusted upwards a bit based on what the “real experts” were saying, but I do still think we’ll get to ~75K and we have at least a chance at hitting six figures.

Yeah as soon as Wasserman started tweeting out how he was overperforming Hillary basically everywhere my brain told me PA was safe. I was still freaking out because obviously, no idea how you kept your shit together. I was losing my fucking mind until the AZ call.
